Singer Featherweight Maintenance
Class Description
All Featherweight models are welcome. Annette will have Repair Kits available for purchase for $40. Kit includes light bulb, a new super belt, bed cushions, bumper pad, foot controller cushions, drip pad, maintenance log book, and 3 cleaning brushes. Most participants will need to purchase the kit.
In the Morning you will
*Become familiar with oiling and greasing your machine - both will be in class activities;
*Learn bobbin case tension adjustment inspection/replacement of motor brushes,
*Rubber bed cushions, foot pedal cushion corners, and drip pad. All Featherweight models are welcome. Annette will have Repair Kits available for purchase for $40. *Test sew to understand what is involved in making a perfect stitch
Afternoon
*Needle tension is taken apart for cleaning and inspection
*Belt replaced and check the tension of belt
*Foot pedal adjustment if needed
*Bobbin winder tested
*LED bulb replacement
Class Supplies to bring: scissors, thread, swatch of fabric to test sewing, power cord and bobbin case for your machine, disposable gloves for oiling and cleaning, a few cotton or micro-fiber rags, 12 Q-tips for cleaning machine. You will need to purchase machine oil either from the shop or from Annette. See above for Repair Kit participants will need to purchase.

Class Instructor:
Annette Poole has been sewing since she was a young girl in 4-H clubs, and has sewn everything from bridal to custom men’s shirts. Her interest in machine repair came about when she attended a class at a quilt shop that had a full time female repair person on staff.
